Whilst confusion still reigns when it comes to the possibility of a return to footballing action at some point in the more near future with the Premier League’s clear hope that games can restart behind closed doors, Aston Villa have quietly held their own counsel but this weekend we’ve had two good announcements.
Firstly on Friday evening, we confirmed that we had repurposed the North Stand so we could lighten the load on the NHS when it came to maternity care clinics.

From Monday next week, we will begin hosting clinics for both expectant mums and new parents, with midwives and health visitors providing postnatal and antenatal care, along with newborn hearing tests.
Given all the concerns owing to Coronavirus and understandable worries about attending hospitals when pregnant or with newborns, this is a fantastic way for us to help do our part and provide some relief.
Special shout for Deputy director of Midwifery, Louise Wilde, who set the ball rolling here – she’s a Villan!

With the club also announcing a wage deferral for the players on Saturday – it’s been quite a good weekend on the news front.
