Martin O’Neill has revealed that Wilfred Bouma and John Carew have both resumed light training at Bodymoor Heath.

Bouma has been out for nearly 6 months after sustaining a dislocated ankle in our Intertwobob match against Odense, and Carew has been out for a good few weeks with a back problem.

Speaking on the official site, O’Neill said:

‘Freddie Bouma has done a bit of training with us. It has been very light.

‘No-one, including Freddie, would want to be getting carried away with things but it’s very encouraging.

‘John has been out on the training field too. Again, it’s encouraging news.’
