I’ve seen many fans bemoan Houllier and wish back to to the days of that lovely, lovely irish chap we had before.

I agree with them. Wholeheartedly. Here’s why…

Martin O’Neill built Villa Park with his bare hands. It’s true, he used his spit for cement.

He also made Ashley Young no I don’t mean took him from obscurity and made him a star I mean literally made him from twigs and spit (magic his spit is)

Under Martin O’Neill we never lost a match. NEVER. Certainly not to competition we were expected to win. I don’t know what happened to all the title trophies and cups we obviously racked up but regardless we won everything.

We got 6th. Lots. Despite winning everything we finished 6th, which in many ways is better than finishing first and winning the league or finishing 4th and getting Champion’s League. (I’d like to add that finishing 6th wasn’t half as good when David O’Leary did it with us. He was rubbish)

He was a great man manager. All the lads loved working for him so much they wouldn’t ever want to leave …..well except Gareth Barry …..and James Milner but we didn’t need them anyway.

Rotation rotation rotation. O’Neill never did this. Great managing. No one likes change.

He didn’t give the kids a chance. Houllier’s given them a chance, look what’s happened an embarrassing draw against Man Utd and a loss to Blackburn. I much preferred O’Neill’s idea that Bannan is so small that he should not be allowed out of the house let alone to play football and Albrighton & Clark? They should be at Cheltenham on loan til they’re at least 30!

Lets face it Martin O’Neill was gracious enough to leave at a point where no other poor manager could come in and mess up his brilliant squad with signings of their own, not many managers would have the honour to do that.

ll this and what’s Houllier done but been french?
