Steve Bruce talking about the time between the last match (v Barnsley) and the forthcoming ‘Cup final number 18` v Sheffield United. Sounds like the break has done a lot of the staff, not just the players, good because there has been a flu bug doing the rounds at Bodymoor Heath. Now? ‘Happy days` Steve says. Lets hope they are even happier days after the match!

Bruce says all the players apart from Kodjia are fit, although even though Samba is back in training, it will be a little bit too soon for him to feature v United.

He also talks about how good it is to see Andre Green back from his bad injury run and the emergence of other young players at Aston Villa. Good to hear he`s following them closely, a few of our previous managers didn`t try to join the dots or show any interest in the youth players.

And on Sheffield United he says ‘it`s all to play for as usual`. They are a very, very good side. They`ve been there or there abouts all season. And as the interviewer points out, they have just fallen out of the play off places so they will be up for it. He admits they play in a certain way and they will be hard to play against and difficult to beat on their patch.

They are a good side so we`ll have to be at our (wor!) best.

Oh and he doesn`t seem over confident that there will be much action up to the end of the transfer window. Hey ho!
