A couple of snippets from the Big Eck and James Collins ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Asia Trophy Final against Chelsea.
‘We tried to make it a lively session just to get the engines fired up again,’ McLeish said of our final proper training session tonight.
‘We had a good session and everyone will be raring to go. We will probably have to rotate it, we have to be mindful of what it has taken out of the players.’
McLeish is obviously not on about a number of games there, he’s referring to the heat and humidity that has been a big test for the players during their spell in Hong Kong.
James Collins added about the conditions.
‘It’s been really tough, even training. Even light sessions have been tough. The game on Wednesday, by half time you felt like you’d played a full game.’
Despite all that, the players are looking forward to testing themselves against Chelsea and Collins is also determined to improve his game.
‘We’re looking forward to it. That’s a big thing I want to do this season, score more goals. Hopefully I can get one Saturday.’
It’s going to be interesting to see how we fair, but the right noises are coming out of the camp.
