With the month of January upon us, another half season loan spell has come to an end – Riccardo Calder from Doncaster Rovers.

His most recent loan deal came to an end yesterday as he was of course with them for a spell between March and June in 2015/16 where he made seven starting appearances with a further five from the bench.

Darren Ferguson moved quickly to get his return this year and he went back to the club in mid Julyish from memory on a spell until January and in this visit to the Keepmoat he has made nine starting appearances with a further eleven from the bench and he scored his maiden Football League goal in their two nil EFL Trophy victory over Mansfield Town back in late August.

A return of a total 32 appearances certainly isn’t too shabby across both spells for our 20 year old and hopefully he’s enjoyed and benefited from it.

Prior to his first spell with Doncaster, he also took in eleven games for Scottish Premier League side Dundee back in the first half of 2015/16.

Whether a second spell will be arranged or he steps up a level maybe remains to be seen, but he leaves Doncaster having played his part in putting them to the top of the League Two table.
