Under 21 hopeful Riccardo Calder has now joined Doncaster Rovers on loan until the end of the current campaign.
The 20 year old heads to the Keepmoat Stadium to build on the experience he has gained in our youth levels over the years, and to build on a three starts and eight substitute appearances spell he had with Scottish Premier League side Dundee earlier in the season.
Having joined us back in 2005 aged nine, Calder was part of the Under 19 side that went to 2012/13 NextGen success – beating Chelsea in the final – before UEFA decided they wanted a youth competition of their own focused on the obvious names for the money spinner that would be.
Calder, capable of playing in defence or midfield, has also represented England at Under 17 level, and played in the Nordic Under 17 Football Championship in the Faroe Islands – he took in four games as England were runners up to Sweden.
He heads to Darren Ferguson’s side for the rest of the year, and will be doing his best to help lift them out of 18th place in the League One table.
