Can We Vote For The Official Player Of The Year?

I feel like I’m having a senile moment here, the Official Aston Villa Player of the Year vote for supporters went live within the last hour – but apparently it’s already closed?

The Official Site have compiled a 15 man shortlist for our Supporters’ Player of the Year this season but voting closed ‘…at midnight on Friday 13th March…’.

This season gets more miraculous and I feel better as that’s the kind of cock up I make that you lot point out regularly!

I guess it means voting closes this coming Friday (March 16) at midnight as the winner will be announced at our End of Season Awards Dinner on Sunday April 22 but even that seems a small voting window really.

Given last night’s defeat to low flying Queens Park Rangers it might have made sense to delay making it live for a day or two and extend the voting period…but that’s a different topic entirely.

In any event one game doesn’t make a season and although the options have been limited to players with 10 or more appearances this campaign, I’m expecting it to be a tight vote with how a number of players have begun regularly shining for us as the season has ticked by.

So who is your favourite and worthy of the annual gong?

Sam Johnstone
Neil Taylor
James Chester
Glenn Whelan
Robert Snodgrass
Scott Hogan
Jack Grealish
Conor Hourihane
Mile Jedinak
Josh Onomah
Alan Hutton
John Terry
Ahmed Elmohamady
Albert Adomah
Keinan Davis

Some very worthy players in that list – you can cast your vote on the above link.
