Alex McLeish has confirmed that Stan is a very important player at the club, and not just on the pitch.
Speaking to the E&S as we gear up for the Chelsea clash tomorrow, McLeish said.
‘The experience of players such as Stiliyan is vital for the young players. He’s a great example, I think players look up to him.’
McLeish also commented on the way that Stan’s game has changed from his days at Celtic, and adds that Petrov is more than good enough to pick and choose his times to get us the pitch to good effect and it’s something I guess he hopes he’ll see a lot more of this season.
