John Carew completely believes that Villa can take 5th Place this season, and speaking to the Evening Mail, he said the team believe the same themselves.
“We have created a great opportunity to get into Europe, we still probably have to take all six points available but I am confident we can do that.
“Football is all about creating these sort of opportunities for ourselves.
“We have great belief that we can still take fifth place. We both have tough matches ahead but we have a better goal difference.
“Hopefully we may be able to rely on that come the end of the season.
“We have a real chance this weekend when we play Wigan, whilst Everton play Arsenal.
“It will be a diffcult match but we are confident we can take the three points.
“We just have to focus on our game and go for it.”
Four matches ago, we were adrift of Everton by 8 points and they had a game in hand. Now we are only 3 points behind, so there’s no question as to whether we deserve to pip them at the final hurdle.
If Everton get a point at Arsenal, we look to the Intertwobob, if they lose as I expect them to I think it’s game over for them.
