Just 6 months after joining the Aston Villa “Randylution,” reports were building that John Carew may depart Birmingham for Porto, who were reported to be interested in the players services.

his has now been rejected by Carew`s agent, the bafflingly called Per A. Flod on Portuguese Radio: “Carew has decided to stay at Aston Villa. I have spoken to the English directors and at no moment have they said they want to sell Carew.

We have not received an offer and Carew will stay in the Premier League 100 per cent.’

  • he’s a class act and if he starts scoring goals this season he’ll be difficult to hold onto in the january transfer window, or next summer.

  • If he starts scoring goals Dales_Dad it will hopefully mean that we are winning games, picking up points, seriously challenging for a european qualifying place, and above all, enjoying a successful season. With that scenario in place, why would/should JC be looking to move on, or the club be looking to offload him? He came here solely on the promise of the club showing drive and ambition to return to the european stage, so with the club showing obvious signs of moving in the right direction, I see absolutely no reason why JC would want out.

  • agreed mackavfc – strange choice of words – but I think it’s a case of agent speak for “we’re in control not you”

  • Don’t like the wording here at all. If he goes then I am worried this is the type of player we need to keep bringing to Villa Park.

  • Its a no brainer, I honestly tink JC will want to make a name for him-self in the Premiership. He seems to enjoy the physical battles he has in the Premiership, he is a strong bloke who holds the ball well and links the play something that has been lacking in recent seasons.

  • Agreed Col. He is well suited to the premiership, and I am expecting big things of him this season.
