Middlesbrough have “expressed interest” in signing midfielder Birkir Bjarnason, according to the Daily Mail columnist Simon Jones.

The Icelandic international was linked with a move to the Riverside stadium a couple of days when TEAMTalk reported that Boro were considering a joint bid for both the 30-year-old and teammate Albert Adomah.

No enquiry has seemingly be made for our no.37 but it does look like that Bjarnason is a genuine target for Tony Pulis, although it does appear no formal bid has been made at this time.

Whether reports of investment from a Middle East group come to fruition or not, we’ll have to wait and see, but for now, it seems as though we are looking to sell our prized assets.

Jack Grealish, James Chester, Conor Hourihane, Jonathan Kodjia and Bjarnason could all be sold, the Mail believes, but so far no bids have been accepted for the players in question.
