Vital Villa have been chewing the Toffee with the Vital Everton editor, here is his opinion on the forthcoming clash.

1) How is Everton’s season going so far?

We have had a very promising start to the season and with injuries permitting I’m sure we will be able to maintain our good form and press for a place in Europe come may.

2) How is your home form?

Our home form is very good at the moment, I think with any club it’s imperative you make your home a real fortress and Goodison is a very difficult place to come and play these days.

3)Who of the Villa team do you fear (Gareth Barry looks likely to miss the game with injury you lucky sods!)

I don’t think there are any individuals that we fear, but we know as with any team as long as the opposition are playing cohesive football any one of the 11 could cause us problems. Having Gareth Barry unavailable is a big boost for Everton as he is in superb form at the moment.

4) Who of the Everton team should we fear?

If I was playing against Everton as a manager the players I would watch for would be Cahill and Johnson as they both seem to be our main goal threat. However around the two we have other players who are quite capable of influencing the game, including the likes of Mikel Arteta.

5) How much of a flop has James Beattie been and are you sorry we didn’t beat you to the transfer?

I think I am not alone in saying that James Beattie has been disappointing, but there are still fans who think he still has something to prove and offer the team. I am willing to be patient for the time being but if nothing changes by the summer then Moyes may look for alternatives, which is a real shame.

6) Is David Moyes the man to take you forward?

Undoubtedly. David Moyes has transformed this club already and if anyone is going to take us further forward he is the man for the job.

7) What, realistically, should Everton be achieving?

I think consolidating a top ten finish should be high on the agenda, in and around those places is what we should realistically aim for.

8) What is your opinion on Aston Villa?

I think Everton and Aston Villa are very similar in many respects. Both clubs have tremendous tradition and history, huge fanbase and the ambition to want to better themselves.

9) What do you think of Martin O’Neill?

I am a big fan, I think he is a terrific manager who has a great knowledge of the game and signing him was a superb bit of business by Doug Ellis.

10) So come on, what is your prediction for tomorrow’s game?

I’d like to think we will edge a very tight game being at home, but our recent form has dipped so anything is possible.

With thanks to Dom from Vital Everton!
