DAY 4 – TUESDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2008

Today was probably the most difficult day on my adventure so far. I’m now in Amiens, but have had to phone this blog through as I cannot get an internet connection here.

I have completed 96 miles today, the longest leg of the journey so far, but the conditions were without doubt the worst and most gruelling, with the terrain being very very hilly, and riding into a biting wind all day long. It took me 10 hours to complete today’s distance.

And if you thought yesterdays hotel was bad, today’s is even worse – in fact its like a menagerie in here, with various creatures of all descriptions in the room, some that wouldn’t look out of place on the Discovery Channel or Dudley Zoo!

To cap it all, after paying out hard earned euros for the hotel room for myself and my stepdad, I discovered my journey for the day was not quite complete. Imagine our surprise when we discovered our room comes fully equipped with bunk beds. Baggsy me on the bottom one!

4 days done and one to go………..
