Ciaren Clark has said the experience of being involved with the first team, albeit from the bench, has been invaluable to his development.

The reserve team skipper is tipped to have a highly successful career ahead of him and he told the official site he loved being part of the first team as he believes he’s been able to learn tons from our experienced defenders.

He’s hoping that education will be invaluable to the reserves when they take on Sunderland in the play off final.

‘It’s great experience being round the first team and the changing room before the games and seeing what the lads are like.

‘When you’ve been involved with them and sit on the bench you get a closer view and the coaches that sit on the bench mention stuff to you. It all helps when I come back down to the reserves.

‘It helps you through and you take that on board and try and do that in games and in training as well. It’s all good experience.

‘You have to know your jobs and your set pieces and really stay focussed.’
