Another day and it’s another Aston Villa raid on West Bromwich Albion’s Academy setup as we’ve now nicked Tim Iroegbunam from them and brought him into Bodymoor Heath.

The talented 18-year-old midfielder is another who is well known to Academy manager Mark Harrison from his time with them, as Iroegbunham joined them at Under 8 level, working his way up through the levels and he has been invited into England age group training camps owing to his potential.

Speaking to the Official Site as we announced his capture, Harrison explained his qualities.

“Tim is an athletic midfielder who is technically very good. He has the ability to play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, who can contribute in both penalty areas. Tim has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing him develop over the next few years.”

Given the speculation the last few weeks about our interest in the lad, clearly we’ve put the work in behind the scenes here to attract him over and hopefully that means that in a few years time he could well become quite a regular name amongst fans as he continues his development with what is shaping up to be a very promising crop of youngsters.

Welcome to the club Tim.

Manchester United beat us to the inaugural Prem title in 1992/93, but what was the score when we travelled to Old Trafford?

  • They not good enough for Albion so what makes you think they be good for villa just trying to be a man c and sign all talent up hopefully get a good one out the lot don’t blame players get good signing on fee set up for future even if don’t make it keep wasting your money vile haha

    • You might have a point if it wasn’t accepted you wanted to keep all of them but new deals wouldn’t be agreed and that’s why they’ve moved on freebies because we were a better pull. But I’m not horrible, I hope Barcelona have finally paid you for Barry now, disgraceful behaviour from an ESL instigator.
