With the jury still continuing to be largely out on £22million Aston Villa summer capture, Wesley, news that Jonathan Kodjia could come back into head coach Dean Smith’s thoughts for this weekend’s trip to Carrow Road and Norwich City, should be a boost.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast international has only made one substitute showing since we returned to the Premier League for the campaign of 2019/20 and it wasn’t exactly a great 16 minutes against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day.
The Birmingham Mail reported oer the weekend that with Kodjia already back in now contact training following his cheekbone fracture, after his previous sidelining with an ankle problem, he may now come back into Smith’s thoughts for our next clash and provide some much needed competition to both Wesley and Keinan Davis.
Should he return, it would most likely be to the bench again and he would likely be sporting his ‘super hero’ mask for protection, given our lack of punch up top, an alternative option would be a bonus.

Kodjia in for Wesley when hes fit? ???? #avfc

Kodjia needs to start next game. Just need someone who has a bit more confidence in front of goal. Wes and Davis a bit unsure of themselves. Need a bit more movement and guile on ball upfront #avfc #superhero

Call me crazy but Kodjia being fit could be the spark we need #avfc

Always thought Kodjia may really suit the premier league. For me now is the time to find out. Give Wes a rest and use as impact. Massive move for Wesley and just needs a bit of a rest. #AVFC #UTV
