With confirmation of the arrival of Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe on a loan spell for the Championship campaign of 2018/19, it’s also being reported that we have stepped up our chase for Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan.
The 24-year-old fullback has been heavily linked with a departure from Ashton Gate all summer, and Aston Villa were one of the clubs linked even when we didn’t have two bob to rub together.
#avfc have had a bid worth up to £6m for Bristol City defender Joe Bryan accepted. Could be the first major signing under Villa’s new owners

Following our takeover and our immediate financial concerns being taken care of, it’s now been claimed that we have had a £6million bid accepted by the club and he could now be the first signing of Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens tenure.
He’s also being linked with Middlesbrough.
The left side of defence could certainly do with strengthening as Neil Taylor hasn’t really ripped up any trees and has basically been replaced by Alan Hutton and Bryan is rated and wouldn’t be a bad capture in my humble at that fee.
I’m not alone in that thought.
Top drawer mate ???? great intent from the new owners as well #AVFC
