With reports earlier in the week linking Aston Villa with a move for Luton Town left back James Justin, it was a case of here we go again given the speculation we saw back in the January transfer window, but the surprise on this one was the claim that we had opened bidding at £7.5million.
To save overly repeating the story, I’ll link in.
The price, in particular, sparked some scepticism of the move, the 19-year-old has had a good year in League One and he impressed many as they took the title, but it’s League One with respect. His game time is good though, 90 starts across his career and he goes into three figures with substitute showings and he’s also returned six goals and he found himself in the League One Team of the Season I believe.
It’s also a typical Dean Smith type of signing given what I can tell from his days at Brentford, just not at that price.
Reaction was positive largely, albeit somewhat mixed as the fee featured again for plenty of Villa fans.
Baller!

You're right, he's a great young talent, can play RB or LB, we don't need big names, we need players who are hungry and can learn. UTV.

exactly mate and with a progressive, attack-minded manager like smith, “unknown” players that he’s looking to sign are even more likely to be potential gems

Might seem steep but was a massive reason why we got promoted one of the brightest talents outside premiership has been involved with England at youth levels while in league 2. will be worth double that in a couple years time.
