Carlos Cuellar would like nothing more this season than to simply play in the centre of defence again after spending pretty much all last season in the right back berth.

Speaking on the Official Site whilst Cuellar admitted he was more than happy to fill in at right back, he would much prefer to be back in his natural position if at all possible.

‘I think it was a special case last season because they needed me there, but I think my natural position is centre back. I feel happier and more confident, I think I play better there too.’

Cuellar also says he’s very ‘proud’ of the statistic that put our back four as one of the best in the league last season, despite him being out of position.

‘It’s great to be one of the best defences in the league. We didn’t concede many goals last season and that made me proud.’

The only worry in the interview is he also admits he’d be prepared to go in goal if O’Neill wanted him to. I’m sure he’d be reasonably competent, but I’m not sure it’s a good thing to be giving Monny ideas to be honest.
