Curtis Davies welcomes himself back to the first team tonight and he’s set a tall order for his team mates as we look to avenge last years disappointment in the Europa.

Calling on the team to keep a clean sheet and grab that all important away goal, Davies said on the Official Site:

‘We need to go into the game and keep a clean sheet longer than 15 seconds and hopefully with the team we put out we can get a result.’

Going out last year on the aggregate 2-2 scoreline sounds like it still rankles within the camp and Davies is adamant the squad has learnt from last years mistakes.

‘An away goal is massive, you can go home and be confident. We are always confident we can beat anybody at Villa Park. Hopefully one of the young lads can get themself a nice little European goal and we will go from there.’

One boost ahead of the match for Villans is the news that Niko Jelavic I believe (the man who ended our dreams last season) won’t be playing owing to his impending move to Rangers.

Curtis will be pleased with that news given the away tie last year, as it’s less likely we’ll concede after 15 seconds.
