Czech Republic and Villa striker Milan Baros has picked up a foot injury and is struggling to be fit in time for his countries first World Cup game against USA on Monday.

The Euro’s golden boot winner injured the planter arch of his foot after falling over in training.

The Czech manager, Karel Bruckner said a few days ago:

‘Regarding Milan, we do not know. It is a rather disagreeable injury. He fell badly on his foot and hurt the arch.’

Although he is now a little more upbeat with the doctors thinking that ‘it is quite probable Milan Baros will be ready to play in the first game.’

Baros, who has 49 caps and 27 goals for his country, told avfc.co.uk: ‘I feel pain whenever I move fast.’

The latest update doesn’t look too good with Czech coach Karel Bruckner saying: “He cannot even run gently. He has hurt the muscle in his foot.”
