Ok, really the gossip now is just repeats of previous links, I think we are all (?) at the stage where the gossip has grown boring and after the no show last weekend v Wigan, we just want action not words?

Anyway, James Nursey at The Mirror has a link to a £6million bid for Middlesbrough defender David Wheater.

His report also suggests that Villa would listen to offers for MON’s £8.5million signing from West Ham Nigel Hokey-Cokey. Judging by the midfielders (yes, midfielder, not full or centre back!) face at the weekend, he’d jump at a move, he looked crestfallen sitting on the bench when Steve Sidwell and then Villa kid Marc Albrighton were both preferred over and above him despite our midfield losing the battle v Wigan.

Another report says that Everton are looking at Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos and Middlesbrough centre-back Robert Huth both who have been linked also to Villa.

The Daily Mail insist we are going to do a double deal with Spurs to bring in David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas with the report saying Spurs will lower their £12m price for Bentley as Appy Arry wants to use the money to buy Celtic’s Scott Brown. They also claim that Spurs want Man City midfielder Martin Petrov and will off load marmite midfielder Jenas to make way.

The Mail things we’d get Bentley for around £8m and add ons and Jenas for just £7m. Hmmm.

Those links make sense don’t they? No, not when you read Appy Arry telling Sky Sports that they aren’t for sale! lol… Funny old game my arse, this is torture! On the links he said: ‘I keep hearing that. I’ve never heard from Martin or anyone else about it, I just think it’s probably a football agent trying to sell one of his players to make some money. Trying to gee-up some interest from somewhere, but they are good players. Jenas is injured unfortunately at the moment. He’s a great lad and a good player. Hopefully he’ll be fit for the weekend. If someone offers crazy money for any footballer, as it proved with Ronaldo, then it’s good business. You can never say never with any player, but he isn’t a player that we want to sell.’

Luke Young I’m assured isn’t on his way out although some press are still sure he is. Details: Luke Young NOT Going To Hull
