Only a tiny snippet so far today for transfers.

The Daily Mail say that Villa are interested in 27-year-old AZ Alkmaar`s Denmark defender Simon Poulsen who is also wanted by Ajax.

Wiki says: Simon Busk Poulsen (born 7 October 1984 in Sønderborg) is a Danish professional football player of Nigerian origin, who plays as a left back for AZ in the Dutch Eredivisie championship. He has played nineteen games for the Denmark national football team.

And we also have a few quotes from Villa CEO Paul Faulkner in The Birmingham Mail.

He says they know the squad will need freshening up with comings and goings saying now Lambert is in place, the transfers are the “next order of business.”

“You want to get at that sooner rather than later – the earlier we can get things moving the better – but, equally, the transfer window doesn`t shut until the end of August so we will use all the time we need. It`s about being smart in your moves, being able to scout well, having freedom and taking some chances.”

He also says that Lambert will shake things up and won`t allow players to just tick over or drift.

“There`s absolutely no doubt there will be ins and there will be outs. We`ve got some good players here at Aston Villa already. Maybe last season, due to injury or just under-performing, it didn`t click.”

Interesting times, can`t wait to see who is incoming but must admit, I`m totally intrigued as to who will be pushed out of the club.
