This article, Beckham goes to Hollywood might put pay to rumours that David Beckham could be on his way to Aston Villa!

Martin O’Neill was asked about the former England and Manchester United captain at the Capital Gold forum, and although the manager clearly had admiration for the player, he did say he wanted young up and coming talent, not players over a certain age. He also said that Becks had made it clear in interviews that he couldn’t play for any other Premiership team other than United.

Now it seems the Real Madrid player might be off to America according to an article by Neil Ashton in the Daily Mail with Los Angeles Galaxy looking like his destination next summer.

Sportsmail can reveal that Philip Anschutz, owner of the Major League Soccer club and a stakeholder in the ex-England captain’s football schools, is confident that Beckham will move to the west coast of America. The 31-year-old star has already opened a school in LA and Anschutz believes he will be able to persuade him to quit Real Madrid when his contract ends in June. Although there is a salary cap in the MLS, the American tycoon is prepared to bankroll the deal for the most marketable player in football history through his sports entertainment company AEG.

Beckham has stated he would be interested in finishing his career in the American league and the Mail claim there has already been tentative offers from other clubs, including the New York Red Bulls. However, Anschutz believes his existing association with the player will hold sway.
