The official Baggies site have confirmed that their manager Tony Mowbray has given Curtis Davies permission to talk with Villa.

Earlier reports claimed that both clubs have agreed the fee and that Curtis Davies just needed to agree personal terms and pass a medical.

However Mowbray denies this and says negotiations are ongoing – only been going on since May, give them time!

‘We’ve given Curtis permission to speak to Aston Villa but the deal is not concluded and is ongoing. We’ll wait and see if anything gets concluded. The bottom line is Curtis hasn’t contributed at all for us this season and, if he goes, we’ll just get on with what we’ve been doing.’

  • surely they wouldnt let us talk to him unless we had agreed a deal in principle with wba, by saying ‘no deal done yet’ means we have to agree personal terms and he has to pass a medical surely?

  • He’s having his medical as we speak, thats straight from bodymoor, there are two others there aswell, so I’m told by a security friend, fingers crossed….tick tock….

  • trouble is my mate is a huge rugby fan and hates football, so he doesn’t know who’s who !!!!! just that an Albion player and two other guys and agents arrived this afternoon after training ??????

  • I would get my old boy out if Defoe signs! The boys the best finisher in England IMO…far better than Owen. If he signs for us, I’m sure he will have a blinding season, make the plane for the Euro’s and be a guaranteed starter!

  • Hope one of them doesn’t look like Rodney Trotter aka Crouch Potatoe. West Brom are really pulling our string.

  • UP the Villa! – – – – – – Mr O’Neill is firming up the backline. I’m pleased, but we need a RB, and LB. Nearly there.

  • If MON gets one of Hoyte, Rosienier or Johnson and Matty Taylor, I’ll be more than happy with the squad.

  • Matty Taylor and Johnson please!! Wow, we would be doing the future of the english game a huge favour!

  • Curbishly pulled Reo’s chain and I reckon Mowbray will do the same with Davies just to get his own back.

  • I cant understand it NO POSTS FROM AVFC48. Anyway i think MON is playing this transfer market like a classical guitar. When Pompey and Spurs etc have done all there Dough we have almost all ours to spend…. I just hope MON has’nt left it too late. We will all know in approx 30 hours. i hope he timed it to perfection.
