Captain Fantastic and central defensive rock Martin Laursen is starting on the comeback trail and lets face it, not a moment too soon. Just how much do we miss his presence in the team, both in defence and up front?

He says he is ready to start the recovery but won’t rush it this time. The great Dane, who aggravated his comeback in Dubai which set him, explained:

‘It’s so frustrating, although the swelling has gone down and I’ve had some treatment over the past few days so I’m aiming to get back to work on the training pitch at Bodymoor Heath this week.’

Adding that although he is desperate to get back into action, he won’t try to rush things again for fear of setting himself back further. ‘I possibly tried to do too much, so it will be a case of taking things more slowly this time.’

He still has eyes on the Manchester United game on 5th April though, fingers crossed! Then again, it might be more use to have a fully fit Laursen back for the massive game against Everton the week after!
