Midfielder Fabian Delph has said he’s been dreaming of playing in an FA Cup Final since he’s been a kid, and now he has the chance he wants to make the most of it.
The 25 year old was speaking to the Official Site as the build up to the weekend really begins, and like most he admitted that as an ‘excitable’ kid the FA Cup Final was required viewing in his house, so now leading the team out for the game will really be a dream come true for him.
Having had the experience of winning at Wembley before, that will also be his aim.
‘It’s the FA Cup final this Saturday and I can’t put into words how excited the boys are. It is going to be a huge day for everyone involved with Aston Villa – the supporters, the players and the staff here. It has been well documented that the club haven’t lifted the FA Cup since 1957, so this is our chance to make history. Getting to the final itself has been a big achievement but we are not going there to settle for runners-up medals.’
‘It will be a proud moment for me to lead the boys out as captain. I just hope I can get my hands on that famous trophy.’
