Had an email this morning from Neil Baker, the leader of the Gretna Mafia (well, Vital Gretna anyway) who saw an article about our very own Martin O’Neill being seen at Derry to watch Derry City hold Paris St Germain to a 0-0 draw. As Neil said ‘Shocking, eh?!?’

O’Neill, who was born in Derry, said: ‘Derry were great, totally committed, and it’s amazing to see that from an Irish side in Europe. Stephen Kenny should be very proud of what he has achieved here already, and the way they are going there are going to be plenty more nights like these here.’

Neil Baker went further and provided some details of Kevin Deery:

Number: 15
Born: 1984
Birthplace: Derry
Position: midfielder.

He finished saying that Kevin: ‘Broke into the team at right back several years ago and attracted the attention of numerous English clubs. Capped at U19 level for the Republic, Kevin had moved into the centre of midfield but is equally at home in defence or midfield.’

Why not 😉

Hmmm, why not indeed.

Thanks to Neil ‘the eagle eyed’ Baker
