According to the Burnley FC official website, boss Steve Cotterill is looking to retain the services of Aston Villa midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba.

The Cameroon international has been on loan since January and has proved to be a big hit at Turf Moor. The Clarets boss has suggested that one of the first things he will do at the end of the season will be to make a move for the Djemba twins, who look destined never to really get a chance at Aston Villa.

Cotterill revealed: ‘Djemba-Djemba has been fantastic and if there was any opportunity of keeping him I’d only be too delighted to have him.

‘He has come in and definitely added something to us. He passes it as well as anybody has in my time here.’

  • be glad for him to get a permanent club, just as long as it isn’t still at Villa!

  • Watched him against Sunderland the other day, shows the quality of the Championship when he was the best player on the pitch. Glad he is going, another O’L*a$y disaster.

  • So ****£ they named him twice…. (sorry to be the one to post that but couldnt resist!)

  • Yes, his Villa Park days, indeed premiership days I would suggest, are well and truly over. He needs to re-establish himself in the U.K. following disappointing if not disastrous days at Old Trafford and B6, and hopefully for him that opportunity will present itself at Turf Moor. He surely cant be as bad a player as we witnessed during his brief sojourn here? His attitude had to have been at fault in addition to his questionable ability, so the guy really needs to sort himself out and get back on track. Turf Moor could be a last chance saloon.

  • Coming to England ruined his career. Needs to be in France or soemthin like that where he belongs

  • When I read the headline I thought you meant he was gonna stay at Villa, and I shat myself! Thanks.
