The Express & Star have a brief article saying that Villa defender Richard Dunne is back in training and could be fit to play before the end of the month.

The 33-year-old defender, who is in the last year of his contract at Villa, has been out all season.

Does make you wonder, with such bad start to the season, whether his experience might just be needed over and above the exuberance of youth?

I`m not his biggest fan, especially after the incident whilst Houllier was still here and he is obviously coming to the end of his career, but Lambert might well look to make use?

Who would you play alongside Ron Vlaar if they were all fit. Baker? Clark? Or Dunne?

Not an easy one, I`d still probably opt for Baker (I think Clarke could make a great midfielder personally, he looked good in midfield last season) but I could see the argument for experience and an older head. Then again, it depends which Dunne turns up. The interested war horse we got in his first season here, or the lumbering oaf. Is oaf even a word? So many questions, never any answers!

Lambert said: “We`ll see how he is. It was only Richard`s first few days. It`s his first time since the European Championships really. Will he be back soon? I`m not sure really, because he`s got to get up to speed with the training and get some games under his belt. He`s still a wee bit away.”
