Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Geordie-Villa, who was our best striker over the last ten years?

Top of the tree was Dwight Yorke with 74%, we might not have forgiven his exit, but it is great to see we’ve not forgotten his ability!

Dion Dublin was second with 15% and the rest polled:

Juan Pablo Angel 7%
Stan Collymore 2%
Darius Vassell 1%
Savo Milosevic 1%

We’ll follow this poll up with who was our best midfielders, defenders and I’ll do one on keepers over the years as well. Ooooh, I can hardly contain my excitement, that said, I don’t get out much!

  • Let’s face it, we’ve only had two strikers in recent memory who put the fear of God into defenders – Yorke and Dean Saunders. In their prime, both were world-class.

  • I agree yorke was the best weve seen in recent years, and I bet he wishes he’d never left, he would of been a legend by now.

  • Yorkie was good but the one that fustrates me most was Dalien, the man had the lot but was too arrogant.

  • eltoro. i bet dwight really did regret it especially after he had the laborious task of playing in front of 60,000 people every week, lifting the european cup in the treble winning season and scoring 47 goals in under a hundred games. are you a careers a

  • cough and splutter Rawlie! I agree on Dalien Atkinson, should have been a legend, he had so much ability it was untrue.
