Karim El Ahmadi has said it was brilliant to finally turn out for Villa in a competitive match in the Premier League, but like everybody else, he was bitterly disappointed we got nothing from the game.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail following the West Ham game, our new midfielder said:

‘For me it was very exciting, it felt good, but we had the chance to win there and we were not lucky. If only we could’ve won it, it would’ve been better but it was great to play in a Villa shirt in a competitive match.’

El Ahmadi rightly is looking forward to his all important debut though, Villa Park:

‘I’m looking forward to it, hopefully we can get some points against Everton.’

With Everton up next at the weekend, KEA has the chance to renew a brief friendship he had with Fellaini when they both turned out for the Moroccan youth team. Although he concedes that whilst Fellaini was a big boy back then, he has obviously paid a lot of attention to his hair since:

‘I would have been 20 and he was a little younger. He was big back then – but he didn’t have such big hair, he’s grown that!’

Can’t believe I’ve got through a whole article and not typed Fellaini the way I normally do…impressive!
