Emile Heskey Talking Balls

Emile Heskey has been talking balls!

The England striker has told the Daily Mail his miss v USA wasn’t helped by the new ball.

There has been loads of talk about this ball and you have to say that FIFA are mental introducing a new ball for THE footballing tournament, if they wanted a new ball, why not introduce it for the qualifiers giving players a few years to get used to it? We surely want to see players playing at their peak at the World Cup, not coming to terms with a new ball?

With that said, Emile, you don’t score no matter what the ball is, with a one on one try shooting either side of the keeper, not straight at him, that would probably do it. 3 goals for Villa last season, the PL ball wasn’t ‘off’ was it?

Emile said: ‘With my chance in the second half, the keeper (Howard) stood up quite well. I just tried to get as much power behind it as possible because these balls do move around. He has done well but he is lucky it has caught him right in the midriff but we kept plugging away and kept creating chances.’

The ball didn’t seem to stop the German’s last night? The one striker scored from a similar distance. Hmmm?

He also bemoaned the lack of supply from the rest of the team which is a far more valid point in my ever so humble opinion.

In fairness to Emile, he set the goal up nicely for Gerrard but the raving of some on ITV about his immense display was a bit over board surely? Strikers need to score, he got one chance and messed it up + it is one thing winning the headers, it is another doing something once you have won the header.

Come on Emile, still time to win the golden boot.
