Vital Villa end of season awards.

Another clear winner in our end of season awards, this time for the most improved player of the season.

Step forward Mr Wilfred Bouma who got 85% of the votes.

That left Gabriel Agbonlahor on 9%, Craig Gardner on 6% and both Luke Moore and Gary Cahill on 0%.

Wilf made 23 starts, had 7 sub appearances coming off the bench just twice.

He certainly proved himself this year and his Villa performances earnt him a re-call to the Dutch set up. Long may it continue! Still say he looks like Shrek’s bro!

  • I know it doesn’t really count but Laursen deserves a shout he has been world class.Hard to admit but O Leary might have made a couole of good signings after all.

  • At Bolton when the squad ran out to warm up the Villa fans errupted into a raptuous chant of BOUMA BOUMA BOOOOOUMA !!!!!! He has really found a place in the supporters hearts.

  • I think he has improved tenfold this season. Still have my doubts as to whether he’s top 6 material tho. Prove me wrong Freddie, prove me wrong!

  • He’s quickly becoming a cult hero. He has been excellent. I think the Chelsea game at home gave him a lot of confidence and he hasn’t looked back since. Not bad considering he’s a centre half by trade.

  • Freddie Bouma bar none. He looks a totally different player to the individual who first arrived at the club.

  • There’s no doubt that Freddie has hit a purple patch & you can see the confidence as he comes forward now. Is this down to MON or just a decent run in the side with some good results – or perhaps both!
