Due to our ongoing FA Cup campaign, the home game against Everton, scheduled to be played on April 10 has now been postponed.
A new date will be fixed in due course, current tickets will be valid for the re-scheduled game.
Meanwhile Martin O’Neill is not phased by drawing Chelsea in the semi finals. He told the official site:
‘We’re delighted to be in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and we will take on anybody. Chelsea are one of the best sides in Europe but we’ll take them on and certainly, we don’t fear them.’
More fixture headaches for MON but I’m sure he wouldn’t have it any other way!
He told Sky Sports: that he had tried to alieviate the fixture pile up for Villa.
‘We have got no midweek games in April at the moment but something like 7,000 in March as things stand.’
‘Because we have played as many games as anyone else in the Premier League in the last two months, with replays and League Cup semi-finals, we asked the Premier League for a bit of help. We asked if we could stretch things out a little for when the weather gets a bit better and we could play some rearranged games in April.’
However the PL rejected the request. ‘But the Premier League want to get the fixtures in during March so we’ve got plenty of time to repent during April. There is no leeway for us at all.’
Of course there is no leeway, we don’t play in red or in London!
