Fair Play Draw Next Tuesday

Martin O’Neill has again spoken of the possibility of a back door entry into next seasons Uefa Cup.

Villa are second in the fair play league with only Spurs ahead of us. As Spurs are just one point away from automatic Uefa qualification, that would mean Villa would go into the hat for the draw next Tuesday.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this before and I don’t think I’ll ever say it again but…. Come on you Spurs!

O’Neill admits in the future he wants to qualify properly but if we get entry, we’ll take it!

He told avfc.com:

‘You wouldn’t want that to be the way we got in, but you’d take it. I feel we’re now playing well enough to make something of it. Qualifying for the UEFA Cup would change all our pre-season plans, but if we got into the first qualifying round from the Fair Play award, then of course we would.’

Even if we go into the hat there is still only a 1 in 5 chance as 10 teams will be entered.
