So there you go folks, the dreaded vote of confidence for the manager.

Villa CEO Tom Fox has told www.bbc.co.uk/sport that sacking Paul Lambert mid season would be like ‘flipping a coin`.

Ok, and keeping him isn`t the same? (See some of Lamberts records below)

12 points from their last 18 Premier League games. Is that not relegation form?

Paul Lambert forum thread: first page Click Here and the last (at the moment) page: Click Here (stronger language in the forum folks so be warned!)

And then mystifyingly for a man new in who knows nothing (yet, no offence intended) about Aston Villa or what we`ve watched the last goodness knows how many years implies this might just be a knee jerk reaction.

‘When things aren’t going well, fans bay for that type of blood,’ adding, ‘That’s not the way that I or the owner are going to make a decision. It’s a false narrative.’

Look at the stats, look at the league table over this, last and the season before please. That is not a false narrative, that is an owner who has lost interest and a manager who has done little right since joining us.

Even comparing this season with last season , we are worse off now than in the last campaign and yet the implication is we are baying for blood?

What we are baying for Mr Fox, is a bit of respect, an owner who shows some interest and communicates and a newbie with no football background not telling us that we`ll be in Europe in 5 years. We`ve had the 5 year plan bull before, we are now a bottom half of the table regular.

The very least Randy could do, if he thinks our narrative is wrong, is a) attend the games to watch THEIR narrative b) face the press c) face the fans.

The narrative from the Club appears to be trying to imply Randy is re-energised. Does the transfer window this January look like that? Does him not coming to a single game look like that? Does the fact we are on the market look like that?

The spin doesn’t wash I’m afraid, so please stop trying.

If he was re-energised we’d be off the market: Does Anyone Know What The Villa Vision Is?

Sorry for the annoyance but there is no respect at all paid to us mugs, sorry, fans who attend out of blind loyalty and this sort of stuff would be far better talked about in private. Not sure the fans who have watched the drivel of the last three years plus the rubbish under Alex McLeish and then adding on the horrendous season under Gerrard Houllier can be called anything but patient and anything other than totally un-rewarded.

Records broken under the manager who apparently would be a gamble to get rid of:

Yes we’ve lost ten home games in the league for the first time EVER!!..we’re talking well over a 100 years of history here…and in total when you add up the defeats to Spurs and Sheff Utd then Lamberk has well and truly blown the record out of the water…so lets start adding up the records broken under Lamberks tenure..

most goals let in over a season in premiership era= LAST SEASON

Biggest defeat in our history= 8-0 vs Chelsea

first top flight team to be beaten by bottom tier side over two legs in a cup semi-final= LAST SEASON

Most home losses in a single season EVER= this season

And a plethora of great records we had against individual sides like Everton, Stoke, Fulham etc have all gone aswell..

I guess there’s only one record left for them to break..the ‘never been out of the premiership’ one!!….

First time we`ve lost 5 games in a row scoring not ONE goal.

We haven`t won a match in our last seven games and have only scored ONE goal in that run.

WHAT A GAMBLE TO KEEP HIM!?

Too late now though, transfer window is all but over and he`s got the vote of confidence. Ace. Fingers crossed there are three worse than us in the league folks, strap in, it could be a bumpy ride.
