Hot on the heels of Andre Green signing a new deal at Aston Villa, the club have announced. This time, full-back Mitchell Clark:

Again, as I said in the Andre Green article, this really could be our immediate future if we don`t get promoted this season. The youth players will have to come through as some of our loan signings, or possibly all of them, won`t be able to be re-loaned or signed on permanent deals. With the financial fair play rules being so strict and us about to get the third, final and much smaller parachute payment from the Premiership, the make up of the team next year, if in the championship still, would be very different.
The prospect excites me in some ways, but I do understand that promotion really is the be-all and end-all for a club this size.
More good news then and some great reactions already to the announcement:
Finally! Congrats Mitch!

The deal is until the end of the 2019 season. He was one of the youngsters who played in the League Cup win over Wigan Athletic.
The Official site say he is an academy graduate and a versatile member of Kevin McDonald`s Under-23 side, Clark has also represented Wales at Under-19 level.
I`m sure we all wish him the best with this contract and hope that he can push through to the first team. Steep jump from the U23`s to the main team obviously but some of them will have to do it.
