I think I missed the first one of these. Mat Kendrick of the Birmingham Mail and his podcasts with Big Ron Atkinson…

‘Big Fat Ron’s Claret and Blue Army’.

Football editor Mat Kendrick resisted the urge to chant that when he was invited to Big Ron’s Barnt Green home. But he was taken on a fun filled claret and blue nostalgia trip with Ron Atkinson, for this week’s must-listen Alliv Notsa podcast.

We’ll have plenty more from Ron in future episodes of Alliv Notsa

Remembering his time in charge of Aston Villa in the early 90s, he…

*Reveals the transfer targets he was unable to land as Villa boss

*Shares some wonderful stories about club legend Paul McGrath

  • Absolutely LOVE Big Ron, by far my favourite time supporting Villa. Larger than life character, born to be a Villan.

  • Was lucky enough to have quite a long chat with him last year, we had a mutual friend who sadly passed, so we talked about him and then obviously drifted on to Villa. Top Villa guy
