A Colin Odutayo brace gave Aston Villa’s Under 18 side victory over Coventry City in the third round FA Youth Cup tie on Wednesday evening.

Hosting the Sky Blues at Villa Park for the first official tie between the sides since their relegation from the Premier League back in 2001, Coventry made the brighter start on the day taking the lead through Morgan Crowther after only a matter of seconds.

The youngsters didn’t crumble though and Odutayo had us back on level terms a few minutes later and having corrected the deficit in the tie, we then largely took control and he added a second later on in the game.

I missed it on the youtube footage (if it was shown) as I dipped in and out but U18 graduate Keinan Davis was in attendance to support the lads on.

We now face Bury away in the fourth round of the tie and details will no doubt be firmed up shortly.
