The Football Fans Census who Vital Football promote regularly recently ran a poll (which we ran across our Vital Midlands sites) on the state of Midlands football on behalf of the Express & Star. Part one was out yesterday and showed some interesting stats for Villa, interesting because Villa fans are happy at last!

Q: Including ticket, transport, merchandise and refreshments, how much on average does it cost you, as an individual, to watch a home game?

Aston Villa come out well in this section offering cheaper tickets than Blues, Wolves or Albion.

Q: Will the price of tickets at your club put you off going to games or renewing your season ticket next season?

Last summer (2006) 35% said they weren’t renewing. This time 60% said the prices won’t put them off renewing and 28% said costs were too high but they’d renew.

Q: How do you rate the level of customer service (stewarding, ticket office, club shop) at your club?

Villa stewards did well here, 3% said ‘bad’ or ‘very bad’. 26% ‘very good’, 46% ‘good’ and 21% ‘ok’.

Q: Have you witnessed any football hooliganism at your club this season?

91% said they’d seen no trouble.

Q:Have you witnessed any incidents of football-related racist abuse at your club this season?

94% said no.
