The Football Fans Census who Vital Football promote regularly recently ran a poll (which we ran across our Vital Midlands sites) on the state of Midlands football on behalf of the Express & Star. Q: How optimistic are you about your club next season?
Last time around – pre-Lerner/O’Neill, 16% said much worse, 32% worse and 34% more of the same. But this time around the vote ws 99% saying ‘better’ or ‘much better’. 0% answered in the negative.
Q: What percentage of games that you’ve seen involving your club this season would you describe as “boring?”
72% was the last vote under David O’Leary, this time around it was just 10%.
46% found 1-20% of games boring and 33% about 21-40%
Q: How many times this season can you recall an incident when you believe a player from your club has deliberately taken a dive to win a free-kick or penalty?
33% none at all.
Q: Are there too many non-British footballers playing in England?
Amongst Midlands fans, 70% or more said yes, too many.
