Stoke City are seeking a compromise in their offer to sign James Chester, according to the Daily Mail.
We are still said to be holding out for £10m for the Welshman, but the Potters want a deal done for £8m after having their first bid of £5m rejected.
Some fans on Twitter don’t think we should sell for such a low amount while others believe we have little choice:
the daily mail said it so it must be true. ????????????

It sucks, would be the last player I would sell. But we are screwed. This season has got to be about bringing through youth, forget promotion really……

The problem is we need money quickly or we face administration its not ideal but the future of the club is at stake here

What happened to selling the villa park rights and getting big sponsership like Arsenal "Emirates" surely that would reduce our costs wouldnt selling our best players reduce our shirt sales.

Quite simply because we are broke and unless we sell players fast we will go into administration

Verdict:
The extent of the cash flow crisis means we need to cover forthcoming bills, with money needed to be raised by Friday to pay the tax bill for this month.
It is believed that investment from the Middle East could be in the works, but the question will be: will it be enough to prevent the likes of Chester from having to be sold?
We reportedly still owe West Brom some money from signing the Wales international two years ago, and that will likely make us less inclined to compromise on our asking price. What do you think? Let me know in the poll:
