Aston Villa Academy graduate Kelsey Mooney headed out to Cheltenham Town on deadline day last month and he’s already got three senior appearances under his belt for the Whaddon Road outfit.

Last Saturday the 19-year-old striker went one further and added his first professional goal to his tally on his full starting debut in the division as he found the back of the net in a 3-0 victory over Northampton Town at Sixfield’s. Mooney’s was their third on the day inside of the final ten minutes of the match. It was his second start for the club.
Great achievement Kelsey, this is just the beginning!

Well done Kelsey. Big things to come for you, your old man did it for Blues so you need to make sure you do it for Villa now

Having headed out to League Two until January as he makes the step up from Under 23 level on his first loan spell away from the club, finding the net so quickly should help the lad settle nicely and it’ll obviously be a fantastic boost to his confidence as he looks to kick on further from here.
The spell is young and its early doors, but fingers crossed this could be exactly what he needs given his start with them.
