Aston Villa have confirmed this afternoon that highly-rated Academy graduate Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has secured himself a loan spell out with League Two strugglers Cambridge United.
The 20-year-old striker heads to the Abbey Stadium on a loan spell that will expire at the end of the 2018/19 campaign as he links up with former coach Colin Calderwood who finds himself in charge of them following his own departure from Villa Park.

With 17 appearances (two starts) across all competitions to Hepburn-Murphy’s name at Villa, he is yet to find the back of the net and replicate his goalscoring form at youth and Under 23 level, but this spell should be incredibly useful for his development as he should be looking to make a decent mark in front of the net at that level.
It’ll also allow him to demonstrate his fitness with a series of issues holding him back once again this season.
Fingers crossed it goes well for him and he really gets himself up and running.
Fans on social media reacting to the news have been equally as positive and are convinced it’ll be a productive spell for the lad.
Good luck @Rushcmpt with your loan must just go and do your thing and smash it. #utv
