Forgotten Villa Striker Temporarily Moves On With A Point To Prove

|

Having completed his rehabilitation period following the horror challenge by Burnley’s Ben Mee, Aston Villa striker Wesley had a bit part involvement in our disrupted pre-season campaign, most notably earning himself a straight red card in the friendly against Stoke.

With fitness not being an issue now, match fitness, form and confidence certainly was and with all eyes on our clash on Saturday with Brentford, the club did actually confirm that the 24-year-old had now completed a season long loan move back to former club Club Brugge.

With six goals from his 21 starts and five substitute showings, hopefully, his spell back at Brugge will get him back into the form that tempted us into paying £22million for him back in the summer of 2019.

He then either returns to have a second crack with us, or his value rises again and we should at least be able to break even, now we have Danny Ings through the door.

Good luck Wes, show us what you are made of.
