Well, with the announcement of some plans for this summer’s pre-season build-up, after events this afternoon fans can maybe take some solace in one, if not both of the following two things:

1 – we intend to still be around next season
2 – it follows the format of last season so is that an indicator on Steve Bruce

The four games announced so far for the build-up to the 2018/19 campaign sees us take on Telford United, Kidderminster Harriers, Walsall and Dynamo Dresden in an away game.

We head to New Bucks Head on Saturday, July 14 for a 3pm kick-off against Telford.

A trip to Aggborough on the same day sees us take on Kidderminster Harriers, and as has become usual for us in recent times, the squad for both of these fixtures will be split down the middle to ensure greater game time for players as we build fitness for the year ahead.

The Banks’s Stadium is next up on Tuesday, July 17 and we face near-neighbours Walsall at 7.45pm.

We then make the trip to the Stadion Dresden for a 2pm kick-off against Dynamo Dresden on Saturday, July 28.

All three of the domestic friendlies are standard fayre for us and New Bucks Head and the Bescott are pretty regular Under 23 ‘home’ grounds, so good to see us supporting our local teams.

After today though, any chance we can support ourselves a bit as well.

Just a polite question.
