Villa have seen their England numbers cut by one as Curtis Davies hasn’t been named in the final squad of 23 for the friendly v Switzerland.
On loan Liverpool keeper Scott Carson, Villa captain Gareth Barry, striker Gabby Agbonlahor and midfield maestro Ashley Young are all still in the squad for Wednesday’s game.
Fabio Capello said: ‘I want to be clear that the players who have not made the squad this time are still part of my plans. We will be monitoring the form of everyone very closely as we work towards the competitive matches which start in September.’
