We’ve covered the mystery of the Wilfred Bouma injury reports… Mystery Surrounds Wilfred Bouma’s Prospects so lets move along swiftly and see what the press are saying that might cheer us up a bit transfer wise.

Oh bugger….an exit first!!

The Mirror claim that Fulham are after former Reading and Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell. It is only a brief footyspy sort of rumour to be fair but it says that Roy Hodgson would be keen on taking the Villa midfielder who moved to Villa from Stamford Bridge last summer in a £5million transfer. They suggest he might be allowed to leave in a ‘clear out’ which will also include Marlon Harewood.

A clear-out? I think not! We need a clear-in if there is any such thing !

According to the Daily Star Stoke want Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins but will face competition for the Nigerian who as you’ll no doubt will remember, has been linked with Villa before… lets face it, who hasn’t!? Apparently the usual suspects of Villa, Everton and Spurs want the 24-year-old former Internazionale man and a £5million fee is mentioned.

Shall we wiki wiki? I think we shall..! Click Here Hmmm, 28 goals in 88 appearances. Lets check the NUFC official site to make sure that is right…Click Here yeah, close enough! League goals 28, and 1 league cup goal + 6 in Europe. He also has 13 goals in 21 games for Nigeria.

I’m tempted to embed the youtube compilation but best not, it could be the ruination of football apparently if football fans show clips of football… ! So here is a link instead … which I’d get in trouble for as well I think but there you go, rule after rule and all really aimed at the fans and fans networks, other countries actively encourage clips and promotion of this great game but not this country… oh no siree! In other news, Portsmouth and England striker Peter Crouch linked to a return to Villa Park in previous transfer windows but not so far this summer, might be pricing himself out of a move to Blackburn Rovers due to his £70 000 a week wages according to the Sun.

The Daily Telegraph apparently claim that Spurs manager Appy Arry is going to fight to keep hold of Tom Huddlestone despite interest from Villa, Everton, Sunderland and pretty much everyone else according to the press!

Finally, Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is apparently ready to try to tempt Reading striker Kevin Doyle to the Reebok Stadium. Doyle has previously been linked to, yes you’ve guessed it, Everton and Villa… There were reports last week also linking the hitman to a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The latest report was in the Daily Mirror.
